WE CAN'T ALL BE ME

2007 - 2008: Legends of a Well-Dressed Ghost

20072008 were arguably my most self-indulgent years in photography.

I was determined to create something unique that would also push the boundaries of what I knew about myself. After many late-night conversations with friends and early mornings spent in preparation, I decided to start my next big project. Channeling the memories of overweight issues in my youth as inspiration, I intentionally gained more body fat than I had ever physically carried.

Then, documenting the process over the course of 365 days, I lost the baggage and let my hair and beard grow out. I ended the year weighing less, both mentally and physically, than I had at any time as an adult.

This collection of images were all captured using a Nikon D70 and then refined in Photoshop, or drawn by hand on a Macintosh laptop with a Wacom tablet.
